GENERAL INFORMATION AND FIVE OPTIONS - See FAQ for more information
We are open from Monday at 2:00pm - Saturday at 5:00pm. We close for all major holidays.
All of our services are provided at no cost.
We are not a crisis shelter providing a bed, cash assistance, or transportation.
We provide a setting where women who would like to get away for a few days can experience a quiet retreat.
Women who desire counseling (18 and above) can come for one day of intensive biblical counseling, with an option to stay an additional day(s) for quiet reflection.
We are not a treatment facility; therefore, we cannot serve women who are experiencing severe depression, severe emotional responses related to past or current trauma, active addiction(s), or eating disorders. We are not licensed to provide therapeutic care. We are licensed as a Board and Lodge, offering one day of intensive one-on-one counseling for emotionally stable women experiencing relational difficulties and/or challenging life circumstances.
If cross-contamination is a concern, please bring your own store-bought food or ingredients, pots, pans, and utensils to cook with in our kitchen.
For all scheduling, see CONNECT page.
1. INTENSIVE BIBLICAL COUNSELING: One-day session from 10:00am - 4:00pm
Women will receive counseling that gets into the root of negative life-controlling behaviors and thoughts while embracing a Christ-centered solution. We offer one day of one-on-one counseling on Tuesday - Friday. Staying overnight in Joanne’s House is an option if you would like to stay for an additional day(s) to process the counseling session. Bedding, towels, and meals are provided. Due to the high demand for intensive counseling sessions, there is often a wait time of two - three months. At times there are cancellations which open up the schedule for women wanting to get in sooner.
2. JOANNE’S HOUSE: Personal retreat - one to three days, leaving on the third day
There are four bedrooms available on the second floor for women who need time away for rest and/or reflection. There are many beautiful spaces on the grounds to use as well. You tell us how you would like to spend your time, and our staff will be happy to serve you. Bedding, towels, and all meals are provided. There is usually availability within a few weeks of inquiring. This option does not include counseling.
3. SELAH HOUSE: Personal quiet retreat - one to three days, leaving on the third day
This is a cabin that provides a very quiet environment for you to rest, reflect, and enjoy nature. “Selah” is found in the Psalms and means to pause and reflect. The cabin has a daybed, comfortable chairs, and a desk. There is propane heat but no running water or electricity. A wash basin, camping toilet, and lantern are provided, as well as an outhouse nearby. Bedding, towels, and meals are provided. You may eat alone in the cabin or with others in Joanne’s House. Guests can sleep in the cabin overnight or use a bedroom in Joanne’s House. If sleeping in the cabin, a bathroom is available in Joanne’s House for taking showers. This option does not include counseling.
4. THE CHALET: Groups of three to ten women - one to three days, leaving on the third day
This is a beautiful new house available Tuesday - Saturday with space to host your group of co-workers, family, friends, executive board members, church retreats, church small groups, or seminars. If the Chalet is used for a group meeting, men are welcome; however, men cannot sleep overnight. There are 10 beds available, one full and nine twin. In the Chalet, guests bring all their own food, towels, sheets, and pillow. A $200 damage deposit is required at check-in and will be returned at check-out if there is no damage. For more information, see FAQ and CHALET GUIDELINES.
5. PRAYER ROOM
We have a cozy little prayer room available for women who would like to get away for a few hours or for the day. The farm setting is quiet and peaceful, conducive for time alone with the Lord.
