FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long can I stay? Intensive counseling guests come for one day with an option to stay an additional day(s) in Joanne’s House. Joanne’s House guests stay one to four days, leaving on the fourth day. Selah House (cabin) guests stay one to three days, leaving on the third day, and Chalet guests stay one to three days, leaving on the third day.

How much does it cost? All our services are provided at no cost to all women. Some women make a donation to the ministry; however, this is not required. See HOW TO HELP for donation options. 

Will I have a private bedroom and bathroom in Joanne’s House? There are four private bedrooms, all on the second floor. One has a queen bed, one has a full bed, one has two twin beds, and one has a twin bed. There is one bathroom in the upstairs for all guests to share. There is another bathroom on the main floor that can also be used.

What do I need to bring if staying in Joanne’s House or Selah House? We provide your bedding, pillow, and towels; however, if you prefer your own bedding/pillow, please bring them along. If you enjoy walking, bring weather appropriate clothing and walking shoes or boots. Please bring slippers or house shoes for inside the buildings.

Is food provided for Joanne’s House and Selah House guests? If coming alone or with a friend, all your meals and snacks are provided. If you are coming as a group of three-four, you bring all your own food and snacks. You may bring store-bought food or food from restaurants. If you would like to have homemade meals and snacks, you must bring the ingredients needed and cook in our kitchen. We are under the Department of Health which has very specific kitchen regulations. 

Do I have to eat with staff? Joanne’s House guests, Selah House guests, and women receiving counseling may choose to eat meals alone or with others in the dining room.

Do you provide beverages? Yes, for all Joanne’s House, Selah House, and counseling guests, we provide coffee, tea, creamer, filtered well water, and milk.

Do you cook for women with food restrictions? If cooking for one-two women, we provide gluten and dairy free foods, as well as providing for other restrictions. Some women choose to bring their own food if they have several limitations. If there is a concern for cross-contamination, please bring your own store-bought food or ingredients, pots, pans, and utensils to cook your meals in our kitchen

What do groups using the Chalet need to bring? Food, beverages, sheets, pillow, face cloth, bath towels. Food can be made at home and brought to the Chalet or made in the Chalet’s kitchen. The Chalet does not have the same Department of Health regulations as Joanne’s House. See CHALET GUIDELINES for more information.

Are there private bedrooms in the Chalet? There is a main floor bedroom with a full bed and a twin bed. All other twin beds are on the second floor in an open loft.

Do you allow alcoholic beverages at the Farm? No. At any time, we may have guests who are recovering from alcoholism.

Do you have check-in and check-out hours? We don’t have set arrival and departure times for Joanne’s House and Selah House. That will be discussed while scheduling. For those staying in the Chalet, see CHALET GUIDELINES.

Can I bring my pet? The only animals allowed are Certified Service Dogs (papers are required) and Emotional Service Animals (psychological documentation is required). We have a miniature goldendoodle house dog who is hypoallergenic and doesn’t shed.

Do you have house cats? No, all cats are outside and are never allowed inside the buildings in support of women with cat allergies.

Can I use candles? No. Electric or battery-operated candles are acceptable.

Am I able to use my cell phone and computer? We encourage using your time away from home to focus on quiet rest and personal reflection; however, you may use your phone and computer as needed. We do have Wi-Fi.

Can I leave the property during my stay in Joanne’s House and Selah House? All guests may come and go if necessary. Staff must be informed face-to-face prior to leaving, and your estimated time of return must be written on the kitchen whiteboard with your cell number. Please notify staff if your return is delayed.
